Due to the COVID-19 environment, certain changes in previous years' processes have been made to align with VDOH/CDC guidance.

In order to use this program, residents must adhere to the following requirements:

  • Proof of residency (Driver's License)
  • Must be a resident in the town only
  • Detailed material list and quantity 
  • Limit 10 gallons or 30 items per household

All participants must remain in vehicle with a mask on until notified. All materials to dispose of must be organized such that it can be placed upon a table in little time. Do not use garbage bags. A staff member will process paperwork to include contact information. Before arriving to drop off, participants must have a completed, materials drop-off list. This materials list should be legible with each material and volume on it.

When this is completed, participants will be asked to exit the vehicle and place materials on table, and maintain social distancing.  Excessive materials will not be accepted and will be referred to the Gleason Road facility. Nothing will be returned (gas cans etc.). Please leave your pets at home.

Material Limits:  no more than, 10 gallons of paint, 10 bulbs, no E-Waste, and  5 gallons of used oil. (used oil has a small fee)

Not accepted

The following items are not accepted, but other options for proper disposal exist. Unless noted, do not dispose of these items in the trash. Empty paint cans are trash, not hazardous waste.

  • Paint:  If you have empty paint cans, let them dry completely, leave the lids off and put them in your regular trash.
  • Propane tanks: we do not accept full or partially full propane tanks. Please bring only completely empty tanks. (a small fee will be applied to each)
  • Fireworks, road flares, explosives 
  • Ammunition 
  • Smoke detectors 
  • Medical waste
  • Radioactive waste
  • Laboratory chemicals
