Prescription Drugs
LOCK UP OR SAFELY DISPOSE

Locking up or getting rid of old or unused medications can keep young kids and pets safe from accidental ingestion.

Two-thirds of Vermont youth who misused prescription pain relievers said they got them from family or friends and many said the pills came from home medicine cabinets (Source: 2019 VT Youth Risk Behavior Survey).

LOCK

Store your medications in a lock box or locked medicine cabinet.

DROP

Drop off unused medication at a kiosk at your local pharmacy or police station. See the map on the other side for a location near you.

MAIL

Mail unused medication in a pre-paid envelope.
