National Battery Recycling Day is Monday, February 18. Missing Valentine’s Day? No problem, we will love you for dropping off your batteries to be recycled!
53% of Vermonters recycled their batteries last year. We can definitely do better than that- the New Year means new opportunities to recycle your batteries and phones! Find a convenient drop-off location by visiting the Call2Recycle locator: www.call2recycle.org/locator. Batteries can cause fires at transfer stations and recycling facilities if they are mixed with the trash, and throwing them away is against the law.
Rutland County Solid Waste District and the Solid Waste Alliance Communities help our towns and residents save money and protect the environment with proper disposal practices. Please reach out if you have any questions about where/how to dispose of anything. For more information visit: www.rcswd.com & www.rutlandcountyswac.org
